Galveston Street Ministry
Volunteers can serve in the food line, pass out drinks to those waiting in line for food or medical services, or just visit and pray with the souls who desperately need to see Christ’s love displayed in the flesh. A short message and an alter call are delivered each week, which has resulted in many accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior each week.
LifePoint attenders are invited to volunteer on the 5th Saturday of the month. Saturday mornings in Galveston. Meet at LifePoint at 7:00 AM and return by about 10:00 AM.
Who should be involved in the project? Any adult or older youth can serve. Children can serve, but parents should keep a close eye on younger children since this project takes place in a large crowded parking lot with lots of activity.
For more info., contact Derek & Xiomara Price at Derekjprice@comcast.net or 281-723-7925.
On Saturday mornings from 8:00 – 9:00 AM, Island Church serves a hot breakfast to homeless people at the corner of 20th and Winnie. Everyone comes expecting food, prayer and an encouraging message from the Lord.
Volunteers are needed to serve in this homeless ministry, which is supported by several Houston area churches. There are many jobs available so everyone can find some way to minister to the ~200 indigent we serve every Saturday morning.
