Milestone #3 Baptism
Age: Immediately following salvation
Having made the dedication to put God in the center of one's family (milestone #1) and having led our children to a clear understanding of salvation in Jesus (milestone #2), we come to the next milestone in the journey, baptism.
Baptism is a celebration of one's new identity in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" This "new life" is identified and celebrated in baptism!!
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change. Baptism does not save a person. Salvation came in milestone #2. Baptism is the first step of obedience one is called to following the decision of salvation.
At LifePoint, we have a Baptism Packet that gives clear understanding as to what the Bible teaches about Baptism, who should be baptized, and when to be baptized. To go through the baptism milestone, please download the Baptism Packet and complete it. Once that is done, you will be ready to complete this milestone.
